Just noticed my fridge (UK) was freezing some of the stuff at the back. Kids had turned it up to max (9), it ranges from 1 to 9, any idea what it is meant to be on to be safe to store veg, milk, cheese etc

You will have to experiment. The shorter a time the food stays in there, the warmer that you can keep it.
So...colder, or shop more often.

I seem to recall that PLUS 5 C. is normal fridge temperature. MINUS 18 C. the norm for freezer. To be sure of these you would need to check with fridge/freezer thermometer. For now I would guess setting no.4 - 5 would be ok.

6 is the coldest putting. the better the selection the cooler the refrigerator gets This icing up isn't by way of a capability surge even with the fact that seeing your different faults i might strongly propose you to get an electrician check out your capability distribution and wiring until eventually now your place catches fireplace.

About halfway but the back freezing up is damp in your freezer. Better check if the door is closing properly.
