I'm just wondering on how wide and long a cavern to be, esp. to stash items like artwork, for a novel to work on. Is there any like it in Arizona?

A cave is a natural underground void large enough for an adult human to enter.
Cavern is synonym for cave, especially one that is very large

it might be up to few kilometres long...we talk about underwater cavern link here. Just like the one in Yucatan Penisular in Mexico.
