Does mind over matter really ring true? Do positive thoughts REALLY produce positive outcomes? Do people have an aura that others can sense, and if it's bad, is it usually because of negative thoughts?

That's what i wanna know. Does anyone believe in this stuff? Anyone have any proof of this? Can you give a good answer, explaining that our lives are guided by positive and negative thoughts?

Yes they do.
Anytime you approach a situation with a positive mindset the results are going to be better than if you were negative.
The positive aspect is: If things work to the desired end, great. If not, you tend to use it as a learning device for future experiences and you still reap in a positive light.
The negative aspect is: If things work to the desired end, you got lucky. If it fails, you're not surprised.
As far as karma, auras or luck... I believe we make our own futures and it's our influence and determination that decides what happens.

Our lives are guided by the positive and negative thoughts.

Every year a number of capable and intelligent people drop from trying for some great opportunities and lose them as they didn't even try. Their negative thoughts make them a failure even before they tried.

People who are not so capable but positive minded try with a hope and grab the opportunity, which the negative minded people have left without trying.

You can find such example almost anywhere and everywhere.
Just think and you will remember an instance where a person whom you expected to win have lost and the one who had no chance of winning had won ! we all know such incidents in our life some time or the other.

What do you think is the reason ? Positive thought gave courage to try and strength to win, whereas the negative thoughts took away their enthusiasm and stolen their energy.

Even in yahoo answers, sometimes when I read a question which I had some knowledge, but was not sure whether i could make a good answer, but being positive, I tried and many times mine was selected as the best answer too ! If I was negative, I would never had made it. right ??? What more proof do we need.
You can find similar proof in your life and also among the people around you. So, be positive. good luck. Bye

Proof is difficult to provide, it's a bit like trying to prove the existence of God, either you believe it to the the case and so then everything else works as a self-fulfilling prophecy to substantiate your point, or you don't believe and then your mind is closed to the signs that it might be true anyway.
I was brought up to belief in the power of the positive, twee but it has given me strength when times may have been difficult for me. I always rely on my gut instinct when it comes to people too - that has always steered me well as well, I can usually tell if someone has good intentions or is a completely selfish person. People always seem to perceive me in the same way as v positive and enthusiastic, so maybe they can sense my aura. I definitely believe that we have a tangible essence that others can pick up on if they are tuned in. I also believe that we all have the potential to relate to it as we all have instinctual feelings, it's just that some people act on them and others dismiss them. It would be good if we all tuned into what we really thought because usually people give off non verbal cues and you know sometimes you get a strong feeling that you don't like someone? It's usually because they have given a cue that your subconscious has taken note of but your conscious brain missed. I think that is tied in with postivity as well. We should be more open to feelings that transcend the facts that we are aware of. We only use a small proportion of out brain's capacity, imagine what power we would have if we could harness the rest of it...

No positive thoughts do not always produce positive outcomes. But you will do your best at _____, if you are engaging it positively. Mind over matter is more on the lines of the human will. Things may seem bad but you still think you can do "it", so you continue despite how it is looking at the moment.

Now this aura you spoke of is pretty close. 60% of communication is body language, 30% tone and then 10% are the words used. So the bad/good intentions are picked up from the first two. This is why you might say to yourself he/she is lying, or this guy creeps me out etc..

Yes I believe in this stuff, but I also have clear definitions for them all. The more clearly you define something the more useful it is to you. Most of us, when we do not understand something, do not research it. This is something we all need to change, anyway think about this.

Are you afraid of a knife? What did you picture? Was it a knife at a place setting on a table? I think no, most of us picture it as a weapon. Now this is called a neuro-association, and that is how your brain(neuro), links up symbols(association). So lets say a person is coming at you with a knife and you have no "skills" so you are thinking "oh my god he's going to kill me". Now how well do you think you will defend yourself with that "negative" thought pattern running in your head?

Now the opposite. You are trained in defensive knife tactics and the same man is coming at you. What is your thought pattern now? Why are you/we more comfortable with this scenario?? Well it's because we are able to define this scenario in a clear and decisive manner because we have been in that scenario many times before. So it's within our "comfort zone" now so we engage it with a more positive manner and that's again only because we know we have options.

Another example: You are attacked by a dog, a large dog let's say a shepard. What will be your thoughts the next time you see that breed? It's not going to be positive is it. Now the opposite, if you grew up with the breed and it was the best dog of all time then what's your association to the breed now?

It all how you take things. If you take them personally or bad then what will it be for you? If you went out and got over that fear of all shepards, then you would engage them differently.

Another example say you think your boss wants to give you a raise. You are banging on his/her door right? Now if you think they would laugh at you then how positive is that thought pattern and if you went through with it any way how would it come out since you are waiting for them to laugh at you?

Ok enough from me sorry it's a long reply I hope you made it this far and I hope this helps you out.

Positive thought doesn't PRODUCE positive outcomes, but what it does do is INTERPRET the outcome in a positive manner. The old "every cloud has a silver lining" analogy for example. Or the "glass half full example." You can choose to see the good or the bad in every circumstance...they both exist.

I do not believe that our lives are guided by positive thoughts but I feel that it sure can't hurt to think positive about things it usually helps a little. The main force guiding ,at least my life, is Jesus Christ and the power of His love.

Start eating the blue ribbon baby way. Increase the protein you are eating to several small mini-meals a day. Always have water at your side to sip on. Make sure you are taking a high quality prenatal vitamin and mineral. Pass on the too early ultrasounds as they can cause miscarriage or premature birth. Drinking a cup of red raspberry leaf tea can help to boost your mineral level so that there is adequate material to build the placenta in the first few weeks. It is very important to increase the amount of protein in your eating plan now. Congrats and best wishes, G

Your thoughts affect your body language. It's not a matter of mind reading so much as people pick up on tiny visual clues that tell them the state of mind a person is in. That's why you hear about someone doing wrong and you say, "You know, I had a funny feeling they were like that. There was just something about them I didn't like."

Patients with infections will have a taxed immune system. When those patients laugh at comedy or have a happy day, their lab tests show that their immune systems (T cell counts) are strengthen. People with negative thoughts get cancer much more often, and catch infections much more often. We humans are only barely beginning to appreciate how our bodies work in this way.
