It seems to only be the female fans that get bent out of shape. They do not want you to talk about their objects of lust. They fancy themselves in "Love" with these men.

The ones who seem to get `bent out of shape' are usually NASCAR Bunnies who like to advertise the fact they are from the northeastern part of the U.S., went to college and live in two story houses. Really, they aren't true racing fans, but are infatuated with specific drivers, ones who have had plastic surgery to improve their looks.
The men seldon get upset or even post Answers, but I expect most are too busy taking the old Chevy down off the blocks.
There are several plastic surgeons in North and South Carolina who will re-implant their (the Bunnies) sense of humor and they can listen to banjo pickin during the procedure.
Duck; I can sense an empty Budweider can or a rim from a `72 Chevy is about to be thrown at me. :-)
Oh, and I don't expect the 10 points for this. :-D

I had answered another way and had to edit it once I saw who asked it, I believe you are a Nascar fan asking this if I am correct, that explains why you shwed respect in asking the question!
Anyways, it's about loyalty! I get mad when I see people talking bad about a driver saying they hate them or in a personal way, like refering to his/her sexual preference, or their looks, etc.; 99% of the time they have never truely met the driver, how can they judge them? Now, if someone does something that is known that gives them a topic to discuss, so be it...I myself will admit I answer these questions truthfully and may 'bash' a driver in the process...but really the driver brings it on themselves in this case; showing they cheated, or have a temper, etc.
That being said, I think a lot of people on here (and obviously at the track too, seeing them throwing trash at drivers) need to show some respect, until then there is going to be a lot of people bent out of shape!

Its because everyone wears their feelings on their shirt tails (as my grandfather would put it). I am a Stewart fan 100%. I don't always agree with the choices he makes on the track, but I still respect him and will be his fan. I am not into dissing other drivers, for the simple fact no one is perfect. Everyone of the drivers have done something stupid on the track, if they haven't, their day will come. Yes some drivers tend to stay in the spotlight, which makes their fans easy targets. Some people take dissing to far and this is what gets them bent out of shape.

They don't accept the idea that nascar and their drives is only popular in the USA. So, when it comes to international racing, they don't want to lose fame or popularity.
But the reality is that F1, champ cart, and IRL have better races, cars, speed tracks, and of course better heros.

I get bent out of shape when people talk crap about people they don't know. It's not even when it's about my favorite driver. I think it's pretty crappy that people will throw words around and be hateful to people they don't know. You bet your behind that I will defend my drivers. Heck, I do it in the real world too. If you don't know somebody you can't judge them, and like hell does that give you any room to throw around hateful words like you do.
I mean seriously, throwing around comments about one's sexuality..didn't that stop in like 5th grade??
It's just ridiculous that people have nothing better to do than to put so much time in something they claim not to like, and it's just plain disrespectful. All humans, famous or not, deserve some basic human resepect..and I hate that people think they can bag on famous people just b/c they can and not get cold ****** for it.

Same reason as any sports fan defends the heroes in their favorite sports ... it's not restricted to Nascar.

Because they're not straight? O_-
Kidding aside, the only difference between British football yobbos and NASCRAP redneck fans is gun ownership.
