If you've also had a do-it-yourself outside wedding, what was your experience. if you could go back in time, would you just go to a wedding hall where everything is taken care of?
It seems cheaper, but i'm just starting to see that it's a looooot of work. Also, I'm very creative, so the coming up with the details don't bother me...it's just the time that goes in them that seems uffff!

my first wedding was outside, and it was not what all i had dreamed of, it rained that a.m. and the chairs were wet for the guests so everyone ended up having to stand.. the decorations got wet, and when i walked down the path to the gazebo that we got married in, my 3 inch heels were sinking into the ground with every step i took.. it was a very "cheap" wedding.. and all in all, i was so in love at the time that i didnt care about all the mishaps.. but to look back at it now, it was a disaster.. 2nd time around we did the chapel wedding with all the traditional type trimmings..and got a reception hall, and it was so much better then my first wedding..

Depends on where you live and the time of year - If you live in Michigan and it is October - could go either way
Personally I would plan something indoors and more traditional - all the outdoor weddings I have been to were scorching, rainy, freezing or buggy.
Good luck

My sister got married on the beach at sunset. It was magical.
