A deep desire to connect in a safe and detached environment is quite addictive. We are able to ignore or receive the advice of others at our personal whim, and never have the feeling of rejection or disgust thrown in our faces ...face to face.
We can ask really personal questions and have indifferent strangers answer, or maybe even strangers who care enough to show us their opinions or emotions.
We can stop feeling lonely for a while.
We can build a courage with a topic when direct conversation about it might be simply too painful.
We can approach topics which we are too shy to ask about at home and we can express our alter ego unbeknownst to our family.
It is a form of entertainment which is far more social than television and maybe even raising the level of human mutual understanding.
One can only hope that some of these are true for some people.
Oh, I forgot to say.. It is fun. Isn't it?
Is for me.
