If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Typical answer: you may need to see a dermatologist.
Try this first: L'oreal has an acne treatment kit that costs around $25, works well in a lot of cases. If yours requires more attention try Proactive. I have a friend who had painful pimple/cyst-like problems on her face & Proactive helped her out tremendously. Retails for $40 I think, but a lot of times you can find a special where they offer their products half-off. I just got an ad in the mail the other day where they offered it for $19.95. Good luck..

Try limiting your dairy consumption.

A 2005 Harvard study found a connection:

"Acne Associated with Dairy Intake

A new Harvard study links dairy products to adolescent acne. A group of 47,000 women from the Nurses’ Health Study was asked to provide information about several aspects of their diet during high school as well as any incidence of physician-diagnosed severe teenage acne.

Researchers noted a positive association with total milk and skim milk consumption, along with instant breakfast drinks, sherbet, cottage cheese, and cream cheese.

No association was found with several other foods often thought to affect acne, including soda, french fries, chocolate candy, and pizza. The scientists postulate that hormones and bioactive ingredients found in milk may be responsible."

My niece benefitted greatly from the Proactive line of products. She had very bad acne bu with faithful use it got straightened out . Once the acne was cleared up then she had dermabrasion for the scarring. It not only improved her appearance, it helped her self esteem.

I wish you all the best

I have a 16 year old son and he has the same problem. I have heard about this stuff at Walgreens called ten O six. He has tried it and it is working. It isn't that expensive either. But he wants to try that Proactive Solution since his friends say that works. But I am going to wait and see if the ten o six works completly first.

long term wise, u can work on the diet and cleansing factor.
i would say drinking lots of water and taking fruits instead of any oily food helps.
when washing ur face, use a cleanser/face wash acc to ur skin type: oily, dry or normal.
then tone it with the pairing toner of the set. voila!
remember, dont scratch ur pimples cuz they might leave marks if u dont squeeze out the pus totally.
but if u find them an eyesore, u can squeeze it but all the pus must be squeezed out( there might be a lil blood), and wash and tone ur face after that.
for short term cure, use a concealer acc to ur face shade..
hope this helps!

Try the Clear Skin Regimen by Acne.org, I set a goal of three months for myself last April and stuck with it, after a month my skin was completely clear, and since I set a goal farther away it was easier to achieve, as I didn't have my hopes up for a quick fix

after my acne cleared up i had some scarring. my dermatologist used a laser to remove the scars. it was about $150 a session but it helps. nothing over the counter is going to get rid of a scar.
