if you can find articles in catalogues of similar design and value send these to the insurance company along with the details about how long you had the item ect... they will usually make you a reasonable offer.

Have you got any photo's of her wearing the jewellery? That should be proof.
I got told of my insurance company to take photo's of my stuff for proof later if I didn't have receipts. (in case anything happened) This was about 10 years ago so not sure if it still applies.

I am in the UK my insurance company is CIS insurance.

Hope this helps.

I am so sorry about that. But to answer your question then no, you won't. If your insurance company is any good then they expect this kind of thing. Just list the things you are missing and their estimated worth. People can't be expected to have receipts of everything they have ever bought.

explain your predicament to the insurance agent; try to find one who will act on your behalf, try to find old pictures showing the jewelry, get neighbours to corroborate your claim, and freinds and family, and anyone else who has seen the possessions you claim were stolen. Or if you have to, fake some receipts....or buy some jewlery, get them appraised, without current dates, and show them as evidence....might be time well spent.....download pics off the net of jewellry similar to the ones you had.

I don't think there's alot you can do about it. If you have reported your burglary to the police then I think your insurance will take that into considerations. Best to ring them up and ask them on that.
