I think Robert Heinlein's rules for writing can be applied here even if they were meant for wanna-be scifi-novelists.

1. You must write.
2. You must finish what you write.
3. You must refrain from rewriting, except to editorial order.
4. You must put the work on the market.
5. You must keep the work on the market until it is sold.

Think about it. Contemplate. It really is that simple: you must write. use a pen, a pencil, a quill, computer, typewriter, crayon, brush, toothpick dipped in soy sauce. Just write it down.

Don't give it a try. "There is no try." Don't reach for anything but for telling a story. Find an idea and WRITE IT DOWN. Do not over think it! Keep on writing. Finish it. Get it done.

You will get there. I promise.

It is only a matter of creative courage.

If you are talking about the actual putting words on paper, I prefer to write using paper and pencil. If you are talking about the writing of a story, then the best way is to start writing. Write down your plot for the story....character names, etc. Start writing the story and keep at it. Many stories never get published, because the writer gives up.

Good luck.

Use an outline of the plot and a listing of the central characters to refer to. Keep a guide to modern English handy if u are writing in English. The outline should keep you to the plot but u can modify it as you go if it makes sense. Use someone u trust who is also a writer to critique.
