oh yeah, it's a crock!!! Sorry but I guess I'm just a bitter nurse, I went into nursing because I loved the idea of really helping people, 7 years later, I am just really sick of the whole thing. I am expected to care for upwards of 50 people at a time, most old and senile, it's not easy and there is no time for actual caring, you have to be like a robot, pass meds, change bandages, and then spend the rest of your time charting with all the ridiculous rules and regs for that, there isn't much time for anything else

yes!! it can be a very tough and challenging job. I have worked in
a critical care unit for a long time and needless to say i have seen
alot of pain and suffering but on the flip side i have seen people
defy the odds and get well that is where you feel it was worthwhile. even when you sit by the bed side comforting someone who is dying and you see a smile on their face that can be just as rewarding. the caring definitly comes from your heart.

It is a tough job and one must really care about their fellow humans in order to put up with so much crap and abuse for so little reward
