I want to study physics and mathematics (double major) in the university but I also want to be very good at and learn a lot about computer science. How can I do that? Can I learn about computer science topics on my own?

you have to follow what your passion is. Do the thing that makes you happy, (that makes your toes tingle doing it). Do something that you will not regret later in life. Follow your heart.

Just because you want a double major in physics and mathematics doesn't mean you can't take computer science courses. It sounds like they would go hand-in-glove to me.

I was a mathematics and physics major in college. You will be busy and would probably want to take CS classes instead of on your own. Both majors probably require at least one or two CS classes. However, CS is not my strong suit; if you are good with some other languages you could probably pick it up on your own, but again, you will be busy with classwork, so you might as well get some credit for your CS work (if you can fit it in).

Good luck.
