It is common knowledge that the problems africa has today stems from bad leadership.African countries do not lack natural resources or human resources that will make their nations great,the reason why there is a vicious cycle of poverty and disease is because most head of goernment and there associates pilfer the nations treasury and siphon same to countries like switzerland.Late General Sani Abacha of Nigeria was a notable example.I want to know what it is in the Swiss psyche that will make them turn a blind eye to where these monies come from,inspite of the multifarious problems that are on ground in Africa.

Seems like an easy solution to find a single enemy and point it out.

Gee, if there weren't for the Swiss, how great the Africans could live! Well, probably not so.

First, there is a number of safe havens for one's money in thw worlds - the Channels, the Caymans - you name it.

And those safe havens do not pour these money back into African economy, like the Swiss do. The bankers pay taxes, the government collects them and directs to many humanitarian purposes. To help African countries, among others.

Second, the rules and regulations for foreign deposits in Switzerland are getting more restrictive every year. What was possible in the past - is not possible these days anymore. Just try to open a numbered bank account, walking into a Swiss bank - you'll see.

So, I see here two primary options:
- to keep blaming the Swiss for their greed and lack of integrity;
- to figure out, what could be effectively done to help Africa.

The choice is yours.

Switzerland is only interested about their own profit. They never question where these money come from, and not just in case of Africa...Mafia from all over the world give their money to Swiss banks.

Swiss banks are very quiet with their transactions and the business of their clients. Is it the job of the bank to police it's clients? They provide a service like any business, what their clients do is not their business.

International law is what is needed. Anything else would be redundant.

Oh, I'm sorry, but you expect institutions that willingly accepted deposits of stolen money and gold from the Nazis to now be particular about the sources of the funds on deposit?!?! Morality in banking - now there's a new concept!
