Watch discovery channel much? H.G. Wells thought it out after watching a physicist buddy of his play with radium. (around 1913 or 1931) Somebody else would have figured it out. Credit to einstein though for being capable.

It's not about the man, it's about the idea. There is no stopping an idea whose time has come. While Albert Einstein was an abstract intellectual, there were many brilliant minds during his time and since. To say that E=MC2 (energy is equal to mass times the speed of light squared) just may end civilization is not rational. When an atom is split a tremendous amount of energy is released (compared to its mass), hence the formula. Killing Einstein would not change anything except the name of the person who came up with the equation, probably Oppenheimer.

Why? Are you serious?

If Albert did not theorize all that he did, someone else would have later.
