all the above answers are bullshit according to my opinion. i m running health club since 15 yrs. i had increased 3+ inches during summer vaccations after 10th std. u just need doing some exercises. stretch ur hands up hard n stand on ur toe tips then start walking from one corner to another.keep walking like this as frequently as u can. then secondly, stand on one end of a long space(gallery etc.) then run towards other end(2nd wall) n jump on the 2nd wall trying to touch the maximum height of the wall. thirdly hang on a height increasing rod or may be these heighted shelves in the rooms and try lifting ur body up. fourthly, lie down on floor n lock ur feet down in a bed or sofa inside whichever u can insert ur feet. then stretch ur hands straight up towards ur face. stretch them hard i mean stretch ur whole body through that. n a very important thing is check ur diet. if u r not fat or much healthy then eat properly. eat protein n calcium rich diet. drink milk n eat sprouts n almonds.n remember one thing...till u grow ur desired height DO NOT TRY BUILDING MUSCLES. DO NOT DO WEIGHT LIFTING.this stops height increase. this would do wonders.its true that it depends on genetics, but only untill u have a very short height history. otherwise u can grow up n 17 is not impossible to grow taller. i m taller than my mother(4 inches) n elder sister(2.6inches) .of course i m a girl n i grew taller at 16. hope u r satisfied with the answer.:)

Firstly there are no exercises that will make you taller. However, a good diet will alow you to attain your maixmum potential height. One reason average heights are increasing in western and developing nations is because people are being better fed. In other words, it's not that food makes you taller, it's that a lack of it makes you grow up smaller.
Secondly, you will still get taller. According to Wiki, you will continue to grow until about 20 and if you think you've stopped growing at the moment, you probably haven't. You'll end up about average for your family size, so look at your close male relatives. I teach your age range and some really shoot up over the summer break and certainly if I see them 3-4 years later they are usually significantly taller (they of course usually assume I've shrunk significantly to achieve the proportions of Toulouse Le Trec- as an aside, Toulouse Le Trec isn't fatal, but Toulouse Le Map can be).
Thirdly, height isn't always good. Ask anyone who has got too much of it. In reality, being average sized is good- doors fit, clothes fit, cars fit.
Fourthly, presence isn't just about height, it's about how you act and carry yourself. Sylvester Stallone is only 5ft 9in, Mel Gibson is only 5ft 9in (some claim 5ft 8in). People will remember you for things other than your height.
Finally, don't forget you are designed by nature to be exactly the right height for someone your size. Any taller and your feet wouldn't reach the ground when you walked, any shorter and you'd be walking about all day like Groucho Marx.

Some people don't stop growing until they're 25. There's really no exercise that can make you taller if that's the maximum height you can reach based on your genetics. If your mom and dad are just average height, well...you'll only probably be just a hair or two taller. Just don't smoke cause you'll stunt your growth. My best advice is to wait until you attain full physical maturity before judging your final adult height.

Height is basically due to genetic factor. Exercises and a good diet in the formative years will help to further the growth, to some extent. But, no dramatic change can be expected. At 16, there is still scope for growth. Let her do Yogasana, especially Tadasana.

You have something called growth plates and the doctor can tell you about how tall you will be at your maxed height! So go to the doctor if you really want to know!
