Days of Thunder is a 1990 movie produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, directed by Tony Scott and starring Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Robert Duvall, Randy Quaid, Cary Elwes and Michael Rooker. The film also features appearances by real life racers Rusty Wallace and the late Neil Bonnett. ESPN commentator Dr. Jerry Punch also made an appearance.

Trivia: The scene where Cole and Rowdy race rental cars on the beach shows birds scattering out of the way. The birds were lured onto the beach by birdseed, and in the first take most of them were run over. (more)
Goofs: Factual errors: During the last race of the movie, Cole tells Harry that his accelerator was stuck and that he can't slow down. However, NASCAR had implemented the use of restrictor plates in 1989, so they would've been in use by the time the movie was being made. With restrictor plates, cars could run flat-out at Daytona and Cole would not have had to worry about slowing down during the race. (more)

The writers of Days of Thunder brought a car racing film into life, gave it a great plot and put in some great actors like Robert Duvall, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. It really is a great movie and with its fast plot the action never slows down. If you've seen it, see it again.

I remember it, unfortunately...wish I could forget it...odd that I can't, because it's basically the same plot as 90 percent of Cruise's movies
