Balcon was the co-founder of Gainsborough Pictures and Head of Ealing studios at its height. He produced classics such as: The Man in the White Suit (1951), The Lavender Hill Mob (1951), Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) and Whisky Galore! (1949).

Michael Balcon and Graham Cutts founded Gainsborough Pictures in 1924. also in 1921 he co-founded Victory Motion pictures with Victor Saville....he was director of production for 12 years for Gaumont-British...well thats all i really know on the top of my head..if ya need more i can research it for you...hope this helps

He is famous for being associated with Gainsborough and Gaumont-British. He also had a lot of success with MGM-British, and then later Ealing.
