If you are asking about a Night Auditor's function in a hotel - the responsibilities are to reconcile all the receipts from the various outlets of the hotel. Depending on the size of the hotel, this is often combined with a front office function (i.e. reception, checking in / out of guests).

Auditors will go to the hotel and check on whether they abide by the standards that is set by the hotel management and grade them according to how well they follow the standards set. They will also test employees of the hotel on the knowledge of customer service and the dos and don'ts in the hotel.
