No American cars are not suited for European roads some still have suspension systems that an Ox cart driver would be familiar with. This is difficult to understand as you have such advanced aircraft.Regards Mick

I like them... and have found many of your generalizations not to apply to the one I have. My Ford Focus can hold its own in an autocross, has about the level of technology I would expect for an econobox, is pretty economical compared to anything short of a TDI Volkswagen, and the only thing that's broken in the 20,000 miles I've put on it has been an annoying problem with the parking brake handle that cost me $30 to fix.
While all except the last one would apply to my Dodge Dart, that's because it is 40 years old.

You have to go back several generations to find a Tucker or Kaiser - both were two decades ahead of Ford, Chrysler, & Chevrolet. Those cars were well built and built for safety. Nash/Rambler turned out a great auto, also. That's why the Big Three ran them out of business.

American auto manufactures have gotten away from what got them there, and until they get back to building a vehicle the public wants and needs, they are going to fall farther behind the others.

No, the body looks like cheap galvanize. And the style/design is usually clunky or plain old ugly.

I like american cars. From wat i have been hearing about them they are unrlieable. But maybe, they are just buying from the wrong people. We got a chevy impala and a ford van, and so far, have been reliable. We practically been all over the place in them.
