because we live in America the land of the bandwagon
they go by what someone says is popular they don't think for themselves..I think he needs to get more airplay so that more people will notice him I happened to hear his cd cause some one was listening to it and I actually liked it..but if I hadn't heard it I would not have bought it

Well I'm just an average white guy but I think Will Smith is a tremendous talent, both as an actor and a singer, and I admire his commitment to decency in his lyrics and movie scripts. Its a shame so many youngsters dismiss him out of hand because he ain't street, or whatever, but I bet a lot of gangsta types secretly enjoy Will's stuff, they just can't let their homies know.

Because they're young kids and it's a whole different generation for them. That's the way it works and it's always been that way. You get old, you're not hip anymore. Will Smith is no longer The Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff is just a guy named Jeff now.
Plus Will Smith is a dad and all the kids know it even today, so there's no need to argue, parent's just aren't "supposed" to understand. ;)

Possibly because even back in tha day, rap wasn't music. Still isn't. Therefore, it isn't possible to appreciate Will Smith's "music". I respect Will Smith as an actor, because he has acted.

I think his music is just right, but i think he should go to other genre of music rather than rap. He might just make it and become more popular in other types of music.
