Typically only once. The most dangerous thing you are going to do is drive to the airport. There is vastly more chance that you will break your neck in the shower than that you will see any sort of problem on an aircraft, especially one operated in the developed world. Russia, China, India and Africa have some issues but other than that I'm afraid you are in for a boring time. Just check out the crew, they do this all the time and they aren't concerned. That's how I got over my worries landing between storms at Chicago, even though the wings were flapping like a bird and the girls on each side of me threw up the flight attendants just looked a bit bored and a bit frustrated, Oh, so this is nothing to worry about. Takeoffs are the best, faster than the fastest sports car, but after that it's just sitting and waiting.

Accident: Well, it was a blimp not a plane, but I'd say the Hindenburg disaster.
Deliberate: 9/11, hands down.
