I had the perfect relationship, someone who really understood me, always on the same page, not only my love but my best friend. He has even told me that he could see himself with me for the rest of his life, but under current circumstances he doesn't want to be in a relationship right now. He is stressed right now about two jobs, both of which will make him be away for months at a time. He cares to much to put me through being apart, and feels guilty when he's away because he can't put 100% into the relationship. His main goal is for my complete happiness. I want to support his dream and his career goals, but I can't see myself without being with him. Can keeping a friendship be the only option? My gut feeling is that things could work out in the furture, just not now. What should I do?

If it is a 'perfect' relationship then of course it can stand the test of being apart for lengths of time.

Look at all the wives of those who serve in the armed forces - they are away for long periods of time. Same applies for wives of miners or oil rig workers, commercial pilots and so on.

I have the same bit of a problem right now. I have to have him as a friend right now but he will realize he can't stand not having me there with him. If you really love him though you should just let him do this and time will tell the rest. Hopefully in both of our cases we will both return to what was so familiar to us. If it is meant to be then it will happen and it really was meant to be too! Enjoy your life, you don't always have to have a man to get by. Be independent girl try to keep yourself busy. It will all work out somehow. Things happen for a reason too. Remember that :)

Don't put your life on hold. He may solve the problem and you will get together with him in the future. Or you may not. Move on, at least for now.

If the relationship is broken by his job,,then it is definitely not a perfect relationship....

And if he says that he doesnt want to be in a relationship right now.....then I guess he doesnt want to be with u.....
