If you have Windows XP, then you can go to Start-->Control Panel-->Windows Firewall. Then, just turn it off.

To turn the XP Firewall on or off:

Control Panel

I think this is the easiest.

Click on Windows Start
Click on Control Panel
Click on Window Security Center
Click on Windows Firewall
Click in the space next to On or Off
Other methods:

Windows XP Menu

Click on Windows Start
Move your mouse cursor to "Connect To" until it is highlighted
Click on "show all connections"
Right Click on the internet connection you use,
Click on Properties on the drop down menu that appears.
Click on the "Advanced" tab on the window that appears.
Under the first area called "Internet Connection Firewall" click on the box next to "protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the internet" to put a check mark there to turn the firewall on.
To turn it off click on the same box to take the check mark out.
Click on Ok.
Classic Start Menu

Click on Windows Start
Click on Settings
Click on Network Connections
Right Click on your internet connection you use to connect to the internet..
Click on properties
Click on the "Advanced" tab on the window that appears.
Under the first area called "Internet Connection Firewall" click on the box next to "protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the internet" to put a check mark there to turn the firewall on.
To turn it off click on the same box to take the check mark out.
Click on Ok.
