Sounds funny but the real reason is Grocery Stores. In Europe you wont find the Grocery superstores you will find here in the states. Selection is probably the biggest problem. We are surrounded by food everywhere we go.
We also tend to lack self control. Since we have more discretionary income than the rest of the world, and we also are not a labor intense market. We sit around and eat.

America is the most obese country in the world.
If you want to know why you'll have to study our culture.
Japanese eat a lot of McDonalds but balance it out with excercise and better food the rest of the day... they also smoke and after all that are healthier than the average american. Go figure!

Lots of reasons, fast food (we're always on the go it seems and never have time to sit down or cook a meal), More people have quit smoking (which causes weight gain). We have so many sodas, and junk food which is cheap, but fresh vegatables and similar products cost more $$. In a sense it puts it out of reach for people in a lower income, so they buy frozen pizzas and mac and cheese.....

just change your habit of eating at fast food joints, stop eating burgurs etc.they are stuffed up with calories. or close down all the fast food joints, start eating at home. or let the government bring rule which will limit empty calories in food stuff.
