My husband refuses to take a shower at night before he goes to bed, and I like my sheets smelling good. He is in the Army and sweats all day at work, then comes home and does not shower, I kinda understand why he doesn't want to because he takes a shower after PT in the morning, but come on, that is at 7:00 a.m, and I want him to shower sometime after work before he crawls into my bed because like in said, I want my sheets to smell decent, not like body odor. Is this too much to ask or am I being too much like a picky female.

Some do some dont. But I think, for people involved in activity in the hot sun or excess physical activity, a shower in the evening is good... perhaps even necessary for health reasons. As regards your specific case, I think your expectation is reasonable. Maybe he is too tired and just wants to go to bed. I think the feeling of freshness after a shower is enjoyable. The sheet smelling idea is not a good one to encourage him to shower. You need to tell him something that is of benefit to him. If you can get him to do it for about 15 days in succession, then I think it becomes a habit. So good luck. If you cant. then try to accept it.

I live in a nice cool part of the world; the far south of NZ. The only times I take a shower other than after I've got out of bed and before I get dressed are when I've done a hot sweaty job. If I lived in a hot place in the US, guess I'd take more than one shower a day. When working in the Middle East, I sometimes showered 5 times a day.

Well for me when i am by myself i usually don't take more than one shower a day but when your with someone else i would hate to have to smell that person all night when they stink of BO. I think most will agree that they don't like smelling others body oder and no you have a legit argument. I wouldn't complain if he only didn't take a shower at night once in a while but he could also take a shower again at night so he doesn't offend you. Besides how much would it hurt him to shower again if he works all day?
