Well there are many different ways to be rich or poor.

One can be spiritually rich and monetarily poor, for example tibetan monks. As I understand it they have no desire for material possessions only for the possession of inner peace and becoming One with the Universe. When they achieve that are they not rich?

Or then you have the monetarily rich. And it does not always mean contentment or joy to be monetarily rich. I have had the pleasure of knowing and being related to a few of these kind. They are not always on top of the world. The still have heartache and turmoil just like the rest of the world do. It seemed to me that most of them thought if they had the best of everything then would be considered the best as well. Those were some of the poorest people I've ever known. The had no heart or self worth.

Well, truth be told, out of all the loaded people in my family, 5 at last count with 6 digit holdings, only one was really happy. He has had a successful career, loving wife and a gaggle of kids. Beautiful home on a great lake in NC and drove modest vehicles and wore modest clothing, hell his wife taught me about bargin shopping. They are and always have been a happy couple/family. It's in the values they hold dear.

Then you have the poor who are way richer than anyone with amassed wealth. They have all they have ever wanted, sometimes confined to a one room shack and a broke down gallopy. But they have health, love, friendship, a faith in something greater than themselves and food on the table.

I don't know for sure how to tell a rich person from a poor one, but I do know that I am rich and I will struggle to pay the rent next month. Might not be sexy or very attractive monetarily - but you should see me glow.

Rich/poor in things materials or spiritually? What is the yardstick for measurement for rich/poor. The chap who drives a Lexus, wears Armani suit and Rolex watch, with huge diamond ring is probably the POOR man (after spending his money on the mentioned luxuries!) and miserable!

Depends, you can be rich in money but still poor in life. I think if the difference is seen in their demeanor, if you see a man with a sincere smile on their face then I'd say he's rich.

The rich man looks confident and is well-dressed, with material accessories and the poor man is just the opposite...

A rich man buys his clothing and never looks at a price tag. A poor man will either look at the price tag, or he will not even shop for the clothing.

There is no distinguish feature to tell the two. Infact it has being proven that it is easier to confuse a poor man to be rich since the latter dresses and acts classicial.
