I would stick with the nano cube, it has a 3 stage filtration system rather then the aquapod which only has a two stage. The nano cube also moves 290 gallons of water per hour, which is sufficient for a tank of that size. I am not sure about the aquapod. The only advantage of the aquapod is that it can be upgraded to metal halide lighting. The nano cube only allows for VHO florescent.
Here is a good skimmer for a tank of that size

I don't know about the Aquapod, but I had the Nanocube and it was crap. I only had it about 6 months before it the light stopped working. I e-mailed JBL several times and received no response. The connectors on the light were so cheaply made that even after replacing the compact light, it blinked on and off when I opened the top.

During the same period of time, I lost numerous fish who simply jumped out of the tank and into the filter. (Even with the canopy shut the fish could jump over the back divider.) I would have to completely take off the canopy and remove all the medium out of the filter to save the trapped fish and lost several moderately expensive fish. Finally, the pump quit working and since it was all one unit, I decided to waste no more time, money or aggravation on the Nanocrap. I broke it down and set it on the curb for the trash man to pick up.

When all this was occurring, I tried repeatedly to contact JBL to no avail. It was a neat looking tank and it it were not so cleaply made or if JBL would have tried to help me with my problems, I might have kept it longer, but the Nanocube is a crap unit.

Is this for freshwater or salt? For salt I would go with the aquapod with the sunpd 70 watt mh fixture. I have heard alot of talk of jbj having poor customer service as well as tank failure.
