Not at all. Besides being a great set of flicks, the release of A New Hope revitalized the movie industry and caused the stocks at 20th Century Fox to more than double in value. Also, all the technology developed by ILM for making the Star Wars films has advanced the entire industry as a whole (e.g., CGI, filming in digital, etc.).

No, it was a good movie and good trilogy. Perhaps some people are too fanatic about it, but it was a good movie. Have you seen the sequels on some of the other movies? Few ever do better or as good as the original.
