The South was about States rights, but they formed their own central government very similar to the federal government they left and by the end of the civil war they had even tried to institute a draft. The problem the South had was that the cooperation was not there. They never had the manufacturing ability to keep up with the north but the resources they did have were not allocated properly. While the Southern army was without shoes, they had warehouses full of shoes in the Carolina's that they would only send to their states soldiers. This happened frequently and was a real frustration to Lee. Towards the end of the war some of the states would not send replacements to the army, keeping them home for the defense of their home state. When Lee needed them the most. If the Majority of power was with the individual states, America would resemble the Central American countries today

You are right... too a point. But the south wasn't against a central government. They used the arguments of states rights but in reality they did want a strong central government. Just not the same one in the north. Jefferson Davis president of the confederacy was preaching a strong central government in the south which would rival the north for power. Before the civil war the manufacturing base and growth in the agricultural center was mostly in the south.
The north wanted to preserve the strength of the union. The south thought that they would be better served if they ruled themselves. Who was right?
I guess we will never know.
But most people believe the lie. Thinking slavery was the cause. So I guess history is truly written by the winners.

Its really hard to say what the government of the South would have been under the Confederacy. The government never really existed long without the war going on. The government was a quick set up really and the effort to set the government up before the victory really set the South's chances of winning back. Every state feared the lack of control and pulled its own resources too close to home.
Today the South is the scapegoat for a lot of wrong doings. America would look pretty bad if the Confederacy didn't take the blame for a lot of its bad moral fiber. The South is a mistreated region that has never fully accepted control from Washington. It might as well be a foreign land.

Um, a sprint element called slavery had plenty to do with it. The South additionally felt that cost lists have been aimed unfairly at them greater suitable than the North because of the fact those states imported greater suitable than Northern states did. The final one could be States' Rights, i assume, yet all of those different issues extremely fit into that one. Get yet another instruction manual, and then visit the library to get perfect information.

Slavery is no longer allowed. However there is still a great cultural divide in this country and it is largely along the same borders that divided this country during the civil war.

If the country was defending us now the Israeli soldiers would've reached Beirut 27 days ago, so they're defending our land and they think they can free Sheb'a as they did in 2000 and i think they can
