I went to a small christian college near home, and then a small community college. One costs 13 grand the other 4. Ive been thinking about going back to the christian college because they are much more friendly and helpful concerning financial issues. Should I sacrifice the cash so that I dont have to live at home or should I try to stay outta debt and work through the next four yrs with a little less as far as fun "experiences" go? Keep in mind if I go the community college they've agreed to get me an interview at my graduate school, something the christian school doesnt have.

easily put- one might guarantee a future, but not for four yrs
the other is stocked with my friends and the motivation to succeed would be there.

it is hard to get out of debt once you are in. go with the cheaper one. you will be better off in the long run.

13 grand is a lot, but compared to lots of other Christian colleges, it's low. If your heart pulls you that way, and you can find loans, it might be worth being in debt for a few years. It's been a lot of years for me, but I am so glad that I didn't live at home, and that I had the experience of dorm living and attending the Christian University of my choice. Living on campus can be so much better, in enjoying the total experience. And you want to do that, because it's a once in a lifetime chance. Would you have a difficult time getting an interview at your graduate school? I think that is something you could pull off yourself. Talk to people who have dealt with this issue with this community school. It's amazing the promises you can hear at the beginning...when they are wanting you to enroll.

I say rack up that debt, you will only do school once in your life, you might as well be happy, I had to choice to get a full ride for sports at a school or go to school in florida for 20 thousand, i picked florida and never looked back, love it, dream it, live it.

a public 4 year school might be a good compermise. it'll be cheaper then the private school, but have alot of the same perks, like living in the dorms as aposed to home, and stuff like that. state colleges are usually pretty good schools and alot cheaper then private ones.
