As a bachelor, i dont bother with the stupid little spring loaded bar. i just put a roll on the top of the toilet tank. But sometimes room mate's girlfriend wastes a lot of toilet paper when theres very little left. Ive been known to use other things in that situation. those 409 cleaning wipes make you feel CLEAN, but good results can be obtained from shopping recipts and newspaper. However i do not recomend tearing the cardboard toilet paper tube into a big square. bad idea.

It should be the person who used it up. A rule should be made that you cant just leave one square on the roll and it should not always be the wife/mother/female of the family/house that does it!

In our house people have been known to take the loo roll out of the storage container beside the loo roll holder and use some and then put it back rather than strain themselves taking the very small, light cardboard tube and sliding it off the hook it sits on and replacing it with a new one (all done whilst sitting if necessary as all within reach) and then putting tube in recycling bin that you have to walk past on your way out of bathroom!!!

The one who uses it up!

Imagine being the next user, and the next roll is on top of a cupboard in the bathroom. Thing is, you're in a desperate rush to use the loo, as the last person was taking a bath, or simply took too long to shave etc. You rush in, sit down, start your business and only then do you realise that the next bog roll is out of reach. You'd be a bit annoyed. I know I would be!

The person to use it up should definetely be the one to replace it!

Certainly I use loo roll!!

The person who used the last sheet should replace it. The next user might not notice there was none left until it was too late - and that's just not fair.

The last person to finish the roll off should do it, if you have someone who is too lazy to do it themselves then put the loo rolls just out of reach so they have to get off the loo and get one, I know yuk but it stops them been so damn lazy about changing the loo paper.

the person who last used it..... although I have gone into the bathroom a couple of times to find one lonely sheet hanging from the roll... so it should be the person who doesn't leave enough for the next person....

Me. Always me. The others just don't go till its replaced. Same with toothpaste.
It's not a big job. Just do it, don't think about it and you'll have less pain of mind.
