Most of the crap on the radio I would agree. But there are good ones out there. You just got to find them. I'm glad you see that because you're right. Good for you.

People have bad taste.
Although, not all rap is about "sex breast bootys and violence".
Even some of those that are might be somewhat entertaining because of the beat.

I like a little of all music, including rap. But not all rap songs are about sex and violence, however most do.
When i listen to rap its because it has a good beat to dance to (unlike classic rock or such, which is great for listening but NOT dance). Oh, if youlisten to many of the classic rock songs they are about black magic, devils, and sex as well. So which is worst?? Think about it . Nowadays many country songs are sexually oriented as well, and even violent. The Dixie Chicks even wrote a song about killing someone lol. (don't remember the name)

Really it depends on what kind of rap your listening to though. Hard core rap has lyrics about the things you mention and sometimes its not all nice, but other hip hop songs are actually have some decent lyrics to them. Then there is this group called Atmosphere from Minneapolis MN, and they rap about the weirdest things... mostly about living in the mid west. I don't know, it really depends on the artist.

It's entertainment. I don't turn on my stereo to be "spoken to" or to hear some great message, I listen to music for entertainment. Solid bass lines and flowing lyrics, can't beat that!

i so agree-because they are fascinated by the thrill of sin-and dont realize that is what will lead them down -like a moth and a candle-fascinated till it burns up as it gets closer to the burn

I don't like it either. Its all the same...and its all vulgar. I like classic rock best. Its full of creativity, talent, variety, and music that really affects your soul...and thats the really important thing.

Because the music is good. The beat is good. It makes me happy. Its great to dance to...
And, not all hip-hop has stupid lyrics.
