Yow know the scene where Clarice is in the funeral parlor, and she and the examiners are examining the woman's corpse, what's that white stuff they put under their noses? I always though it was something to numb the nasal pasages or to make them less nauseous

Eucalyptus paste is another popular remedy coroners use under their sniffers to keep from gagging. I suppose it smells similar to menthol and is just as strong.

It's Vick's Vapo Rub (or something similar). It's got a very strong minty smell that will keep them from smelling the body.

Its Vicks, its because it smells so strongly it overcomes the smell of the body.
