A lot of people are trying to help other people with what they might know pertaining to someone's question, based on their life experience, or just give their opinion. I do that a lot, and I also sometimes laugh so hard I almost wet my pants at some of the hilarious things people come up with as answers. It is also a place to express your opinion anonymously, without being interrupted, like if you were talking to the person on the phone or something, and you are trying to tell them what you think, and they don't really want to hear it!
