I am a 16 year old female and am about 5'4-5'5 in height. I want to become about 5'7 or 5'6, I had my period when i was 14 years old, later than most of my family and friends. My mom is 5'0 but my aunts are between 5'2-5'5, i hope i can still grow taller by the time i reach my full potential height, is there any way i can still grow a couple of inches or so? and is it true that if you had your first period, you can only grow a few more inches until you've reached your maximum height? my cousin had hers early and is only 4'11 but her mom is kind of short.

We sound very similar except for the fact that im 5'9. I started my period later than most and am 16 now. Most girls start to stop growing about now (like my friend who is 5 ft and stopped in 8th grade) however I still grow a little here and there. I have also heard of the senior inch. A lot of girls I knew grew an inch their senior year. Each person is different but try eating better foods and make sure to get plenty of calcium. That way your body can grow to its full potential. Im also a lot taller than my mom and most of my family.

There's always Human Growth Hormone. Not much else you can do other than avoid malnutrition and serious illness. I think everyone wants to be taller. I was sad that I topped out around 6'4", but then I'm a guy.

Being little has hidden advantages. You don't smack your head on ceilings and doorframes, it's easier to feel comfy in a car, easier to find clothes that fit, your furniture lasts longer, and small children don't run away from you in terror.

Can't really comment on the period thing.

Genetics have a lot to play into your height, weight, eye color etc. Time will only tell how tall you will become as an adult. You have a few more growing years left.

Its entirely possible for you to grow taller. In fact your genetics sound exactly like mine. But don't worry, you still have 2 years.

Well, I'm 17 and still growing...so I know it's a possibility. Whether it is likely though is in question. Good luck!
