Engine wise? Nothing! Same block, same heads, same intake. Differences are found at the air filter box and at the exhaust. The SS has a different style hood to allow forced outside air as the car is moving to be forced into the engine and it has a freer flowing exhaust. Both of these parts along with the hood, spoiler, wheels and other asst. parts were designed by SLP Engineering. This different airbox and exhaust resulted in a claimed increase of 15 horsepower by GM. But other than these few changes, the engine is exactly the same, along with the transmission. There was a difference with the rearend. Any other questions on this car, just ask.

basically there was very little difference in the actual engine,,the main difference is in the computer ,,and the chip ,,installed in it,,this made people think they had a stronger motor,,but in reality they didn't,,there was a difference in the gear ratio also,,again it felt like it had more power, but then i really didn't have,,i own a repair shop,,and have been asked this question a few times,,i hope this help,s.

The engines are pretty much the same pretty much the only difference would have to do with the intake.

Same engine, block, heads (LT1). Just different intake (ram air i think) and exhaust. It's also tuned a little different in the computer.
