I shouldn't really be answering this question considering I'm a not Christian! Some Christians I have met do not respected others religions, beliefs and morals values, I think some of them do not even understand their own, but think they do! I find many Christians to be very close minded about other thing in the world, b/c it makes them feel safe! I have been told that I'm going to hell, b/c I'm not a Christian! But there are many religions, and this person that said this to me doesn't even know what I believe, may I believe that he is going to hell b/c he is a Christian, so really who is going to hell me or him?

I would first like to say that I don't intend to offend anybody with my answer. But to answer your question, no. Christianity in my mind is the perfect religion. In it you are taught to negate any other belief, and see any other belief as something that can get you into hell. This ideaology helps to stop people from converting to other religions. Most christians don't understand each other. For one there are so many different sects that the religion itself can't really be takin seriously. This causes the second reason they dont understand each other, not every christian can get a full grasp of the religion because there are so many different ways the religion can be presented. This leads to further seperation even in individual sects. Of course christians look for a model role, they need someone to tell them how to weed through all of the concepts in it. Thats why I say christianity is the perfect religion, you have to negate all other religions, and there is no clear definition to what one is supposed to know.

Bearing in mind that I'm an atheist, and have no vested role in Christianity or its place in society, I must say that my experience tells me that not only do most Christians understand those outside their religion, most show great respect to those who think differently. I myself have never had a situation in which a Christian attempted to force their beliefs on me, and my parents are both Catholics and my brother's family is Lutheran.
To be sure, there are some Christians who insist that their way is the only way (all religions have their radicals - and secularism is no exception), but it is patently unfair to portray all Christians (or all members of any religion, for that matter) as intolerant.
It is equally unfair to look at Christianity (or any other religion) in terms of love and roles - everybody looks at love differently, and everybody plays different roles in their lives. To say that all members of a religion look at roles and love in the same way is at best inaccurate - you can't generalize people, whatever their faith (or lack thereof).

Some do, some don't. Same applies to others of the Book, Hindus and Pagans. We don't generally know a lot about the others and tend to make decisions on the basis of that ignorance. Sad, but true.
On the other hand, some do take the time to learn about others. They are sometimes called bridge-builders because they take the time and effort to build bridges between the sectarian groups instead of doing nothing or seeking to create further antipathy. I admire those who make the effort and hope to do so myself someday.

i think it is a case by case basis. i have met many christians, from the strictest so the recently saved, and they are all a bit different, but one thing they have in common is they are all adamate about jesus christ and the fact that he is the one and only god and savior. they dont think much about what the bible preaches and whether or not certain things are right, they just take it like it is and thats the way it is. I feel like it is a very closed minded religion and while im sure it has filled many people with joy i feel like it ostrasizes too many for me to participate fully in it.

does anyone? most people are too wrapped up in their own lives, their own problems, and their own beliefs to really notice anyone or anything else. you can't narrow this to just Christians, it's a whole-humanity thing. I try to learn about other cultures and religions, so I can understand and love people better, but it's not always easy.
