I've had a question regarding the performances of my two cars (99' grand am se (V6) and 99' grand am GT). For some reason, my GT won't accelerate as fast as my SE. (I've tested both on race track one day). What could be the problem since both of them recently went through maintenance..

weight could be the big thing. the GT may have the same engine except have leather, premium sound, etc etc and pack on an extra 200 pounds.

is one a 2-door, and one a 4-door? thats 100 pounds right there. they say for every 100 pounds is about a tenth of a second in a quarter mile. also there are some grand ams that for one reason or anthor are faster then there suppose to be. i know a guy with a bone stock GA and he ran a 15.7 quarter mile. stock is 16.0. your SE might be one of these.
