The middle East crisis hasn't even warmed up yet
#1 You've got IRAN still trying to develop nuclear weapons.
They claim its for Energy when America asks them why they are building a nuclear reactor, YET, they allready have vast oil energy.
On their news at night they speak about how they intend to destroy Israel.
Had Iran allready had nuclear weapons and sold them to Hezbollah, Israel would have been NUKED by now.
#2 Hezbollah has thus far fired 3000 Katyusha rockets at Israel.
They still have about 4 - 7000 more that are operational.
#3 After the strikes Israel has made - there has been renewed protesting and violence in Iraq calling for the destruction of Jews everywhere and the destruction of ISrael. The arabs will NEVER stop saying and planning that - NEVER.
#4 Israel is beating the Lebanese people but Hezbollah is only gaining ground in the war. Every single successful rocket attack on Israel is not only a victory for Hezbollah, but a reminder to the rest of the Arab world that they can defeat Israel if they are persistent.
As long as Israel is where it is, HAMAS, HEZBOLLAH and other arabs nations are going to plan for its destruction because they see it as their holy duty to Allah. No amount of talk from Bush, conjecture from the UN or dissapointment from World Opinion will change that.
At this point, the Arab Muslims and the Iranian Persians see the chance to destroy the Jews as an immediate neccessity.
Though nobody wants to admit it, I think we are in the beggining of WW3 right now.
Take out a map of the world and circle the countries currently in shooting wars and hostilities and you'll see that the majority of the world is either at war or in a cold war with someone else.

Yes,it will escalate.Israels foes in Lebanon, have, for the first time been able to inflict serious damage inside Israel.Within a short while they will be producing rockets capable of reaching Tel Aviv. When that happens [not if],the Israelis are almost certain to bomb Teheran, perhaps with a nuclear device. The only way to prevent this inevitability is to disarm Israel of it's nuclear arsenal. This should happen sooner rather than later,if the world doesn't want to see total economic collapse.

I'm afraid it looks like it is.

In response to your points:
1 - You say that if Iran had nuclear weapons they would've sold them to Hezbollah. Aah, but what of Israel's own warheads? If the basis of possessing nuclear weapons is to deter others from threatening you with nuclear weapons of their own, then may I ask you why does Israel have them? Iran is suspected to have been developing nuclear weapons, and they're suspected to be a few years from that, but they don't have nuclear weapons yet. In fact, if you look at it from their point of view, they have every right to have nuclear weapons as a deterrent against Israel's arsenal. The only answer is complete disarmament on all sides.
2 - Hezbollah may have all those rockets, and Iran and Syria may well be supplying more. But in a situation where Israel's "pin-point accurate bombing" kills 750 civilians for the 50 Hezbollah fighters, why only complain about how many rockets Hezbollah has and is getting? How many other "pin-point accurate" weapons does Israel have? How many more are they getting from the US?
3. Are you surprised that there are more calls for Israel's destruction in the middle east because of this? Wasn't there the same rise in calls for the US' destruction when Iraq was attacked and invaded by the US? I'd be amazed if you find that surprising.
4. In a situation where the civilian population is threatened by indiscriminate bombing, where a block of 20 flats is flattened just because one flat is suspected to house millitants, where people are told to leave and cars/convoys are picked off by air to surface rockets, where people too weak/old/poor/scared to flee are assumed to be either not there or part of the enemy and killed, the party that is seen to be fighting back against this injustice is always going to be seen as the saviour. If Israel thinks they're going to beat Hezbollah by indiscriminate bombing and killing more civilians than millitants, then they're wildly mistaken - they're only going to provide more reason for the Lebanese, and others to join Hezbollah's cause.
The middle east issue is so complex and intertwined. At the heart of it is the fact that Israel occupies what was Palestine before 1948, and had illegally expanded its territory without much more than a slap on the wrist. Its humiliating treatment of the Palestinians is deplorable and does not make any level of peace sustainable. Pooh-pooing this issue negates any serious consideration for peace as it denies rightful grievances of Palestinians in particular, and the Muslim world in general.

It's certainly possible that it'll get worse before it gets better.
Now, is it going to turn into WW III? Not likely at the moment, but if things escalate and other countries get involved, things could turn real ugly very quickly.
Hopefully, we can get an international peacekeeping force (at this point, led by the French) to step in and dial down the situation. Barring that, though, things are going to get worse.

yes. It will if the USA keep having no clear and sound policy based on the best interests of the USA. Today policy is in the best interests of the Israeli lobby. Look at Iraq war do we have clear and sound policy? i say no. Iraq war and the Iran war and Lebanon war are all Israeli lobby wars

Every opportunity has been given to call a ceasefire. It appears to me that Israel are determined to keep fighting. If it had it been any other country than israel, I'm sure the USA would have moved troops in??
