People tend to find pleasure in different ways.
In our normal routine lives everyone is fed up and wants a break.
So they find pleasure with such questions. You are right. One reflects his personality by the way s / he answers or questions.
Best approach is to respond / ignore as the case may be. 'Key' thing is to be calm and don't let such Small things irritate you. You have much better things to do in life.
