Is there some sort of program that will keep my computer from going idle and make it appear that I am still using it even while I am away?

You can schedule cron jobs in Linux, at commands in NT based windoze systems like NT and XP. By running automated tasks, such as sending emails that you pre-wrote you can appear to be at your desk. Though if somebody walks in and KNOWS your not there but has an email from you they will be madder than if your just not at your desk.

I was playing Freecell at work every break and at lunch. It was addicting. Then I read that doing puzzles helps the memory so I found Jigzone on the internet. I stopped Freecell and started doing puzzles everyday. It became addicting, too. Lately I discovered Ask Yahoo! Now this is addicting. When questions are slow I revert back to Freecell and puzzles. When I go somewhere I take word-find, that's a game in a paperback book that has the letters of words backwards, at an angle,or across, mixed in with random letters. I like scrabble, backgammon and checkers. I will play Monopoly if I can find someone to play with. I like to play some card games. No... I don't not enjoy watching poker tournments on television. I hope that they are waking up my brain. I really do!

GigAlarm

This is a program that you can tell to play a song, a file, or almost anything else. You can specify times and also have it repeat. (like play a song, open a web browser every five minutes, if you want)

Hope this helps you! :)
