Easy, follow this step:
- Go to "Insert"
- Movies and sounds
- Sound from files
Then u choose the music file u wish to insert;
There will be choice when u insert the music file - "Automatically" or "When clicked". It depends on your needs;
U can run the music continously by left click on the icon and go to "slide show" on the main menu and choose "custom animation". There u will see the music file on the column, right click and choose "effect option". U can set timing and effect there to your wish!

1.After you have inserted the the music file into your presentation a dialogue box stating if you want the music file to play automatically, select yes.
2.Right click on the sound object and choose "Custom Animation" from the list. A sidebar on the right should appear.
3.In the sidebar that has appeared, right click on the music file from the list, and choose "start with previous".
4. The right click it again and select "effect options", a new window should pop up.In that window, (you should be in the "effect" tab, but if not select it) under the "Stop Playing" section, select the "After:" bubble. And from there fill in the box and type in the total number of slides your presentation has.
5. That is how you add a music file to run continously in a powerpoint presentation.

When you are on your current slide, I think you can just hit "Insert" on the toolbar then "Movies and Sounds".
You can select "Sound from File" and you can select the option to play it automatically.
