Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) benefits cannot be garnished for child support. However, a judge might consider the income from SSI when setting child support

It sounds like you probably haven't discuss this with your parents...you need to ASAP. Believe it or not THEY can help you sort all of this out

Contact the Social Security Administration at its' toll-free number that operates from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday: 1-800-772-1213

Then contact the Department of Social Services for their assistance...

What ever you do finish school, and go to college! This guy; the father YOU have selected for YOUR child isn't worth the toilet paper he uses to wipe his @ss...it will be up to YOU to mold your child into a true man or woman...someone to be proud of

Good Luck

You should def open a case against him. Contact your local family court and file a complaint to open a Child Support case. Just because he's not working or receiving SSI it does not excuse him from supporting your child. Unfortunately SSI is the only income exempt from garnishment (is a legal procedure to take money for example from your bank account or wages). If he's trying to be an a** hole about it you should def go after him. You cannot bring a child and expect not to support him/her. Is a shame, as you mentioned he def has problems. Just remember once you open a child support case you're pretty much opening a judgment against him. That judgment can be use to garnish income, unemployment, bank account, settlement from law suits and even lottery winnings. So think about it and take the proper steps, is all about your child's future. Be strong and good luck with everything.

Anger problem? You can get SSI for that? I'd really check that out where he's getting the child support.
Okay, first off, like somebody said, he committed statutory rape, the DA is going to take a big look at that one.
If it is SSI, then you're SOL. Current law looks at SSI in much the same was as it does food stamps or other benefits.

I suggest that you go to Social Services right now to see about getting a lawyer for help in your case and to seek their help also. They can make sure you get the medical help for both you and your baby.
Getting a lawyer is very important right now and the sooner the better because you don't have time to waste with baby coming soon.
As for the trash that got you pregnant I sure hope you don't plan on letting him have anything to do with the baby because he doesn't sound like a good example for the baby or for yourself. Get that creep for all you can and take good care of your baby and yourself too.

Yes, they can make him pay child support out of his SSI. All you need to do is contact your local child support agency. Look in the phone book for numbers at your courthouse. You will find the child support number among those. Good Luck!

Perhaps they will make him do something when you remind them you are 17, and he has commited statutory rape.
