voyeur:

A viewer who enjoys seeing the sex acts or sex organs of others

A voyuer is a person who gains sexual arousal from watching others perform acts that may or may not be of a sexual nature (often times its of a violent nature).

This usually stems from their desire to preform the act themselves but lack the confidence or courage to do so. Also there can be an element of secrecy the voyuer enjoys if those being watched are unaware.

Voyuers usually suffer from feelings of inadequacy/incompetency.

Voyeur (m.), voyeuse (f.). (French; a person who sees or watches)

In English usage it means watching intrusively, usually with a sexual motivation as in the pastime (if it can be called that) of "dogging", whereby voyeurs go out in the country and watch others, exhibitionists, having sex together.

The story of Peeping Tom and Lady Godiva comes to mind. See the third link below.

Voyeurism is a practice in which an individual derives sexual pleasure from observing other people. Such people may be engaged in sexual acts, or be nude or in underwear, or dressed in whatever other way the "voyeur" finds appealing.

I believe it was the 3rd or 4th Star Trek series.

Follow up: a helpful person emailed to remind me that "Voyeur" was the 4th "Star Trek" show and that the 3rd series was called "Deep Space Probe".

I know some people here are saying "voyeur" means that you get pleasure from watching. Well, duh, who doesn't get pleasure from watching Star Trek?
