My dad has an eMachine. It's the slowest computer I've ever seen. It's a couple of years old, but maybe they are better now. Who knows.

i wouldnt. Emachines arent the greatest
just go find your local nerd and tell him to build you a computer. Go to dell or similar and build the comp u want on there, and give him those specs and see if he can beat the price.

iam using an emachines right now and it is running jus fine,
but no cpu is good without anti virus software

I own 2 of them and I haven't had any problems with either one of them, I use them for just about everything, got them at Walmart.
I always use; www.trendmicro.com for virus protection, its Microsoft's labs and it is free, it does take some time to download it the first time you use it, so have patience's and allow enough time for it to finish...
