Assuming your question was: will the fan decrease the temperature

fans actually dont cool down a room. what they do is take the hot layer of air thats surrounding you and moves it so cooler air is against you. Same principal as why wind feels good, even know the wind is the same temperature as the air.

assuming your question was: Will it slow down the cooling process of the AC

realistically, no. technically a ultra tiny bit simply because the fan motor produces a very small bit of heat, but you wouldnt notice it.

A fan helps... an air conditioner is basically just a refrigerator without the housing

No, you will actually use less air conditioning energy with a ceiling fan or regular fan going, too. We leave our ceiling fans on in all rooms, as they help circulate the air.

Uh, I don't know...but I should probably be concerned about that as well since I always leave my fan on, even when the air conditioner is on.

No. We have central air condition, and use a fan to direct the cool air toward us.

No it'll probably help with the circulation of air and lower the temperature of the room more quickly.
