Here's an interesting fact for you.

I live in Georgia, and not far from Atlanta is a small town called Kennesaw. They have a law on the books that requires each homeowner to own a gun. Yes, you read that right.

Kennesaw has the lowest break-in & burgalry rate per capita in Georgia, and possibly America. After all, who's going to break into a home that they KNOW is armed?

I think this simple fact says a lot.

No. I dont think think should be banned. The only good reason there would be to ban guns is because people use them for bad like killing and robbing. The thing is that the bad guys would still get guns. Drugs are illegal yet people still get them. So the bad guys have guns and good guys are with nothing. Bad idea to me. I keep a gun in a hidden place in my house so if anything happens I know where to run and what to do to be safe. Also going to the firing range is a hobby for many people. I know my dad and brother often go to shoot skeet and stuff. I just dont see the point. What next... knives?

When this nation was founded it was created with the idea of a healthy distrust of the central government, people needed guns to hunt food and protect their families. The Constitution even allows for people to maintain militias. The idea was for people to have weapons to defend themselves from the goverment, with the belief that an armed population was something for the goverment to fear and would act in the people's best interest. These days the media has made it harder for the ordinary law abbiding citizens to own guns. Unfortunately these gun control laws often only affect the people who are the most responsible with weapons, who obey each law and either hunt or shoot at the local shooting range. These days we still need weapons in the hands of the people. In times of civil disorder when the government is unable to protect the population such as after disasters the worst side of human nature comes out and people prey on one another and people need weapons to protect themselves, their loved ones and their property.

I have lived in many states in my life. I have lived in gun controled and un gun controled states. I beleive that if everyone had a gun and knew how to use it, the crime rate would drop emmencely. As the criminals would know that everyone has a gun and had the right to use it on them, they would reduce the actions of most of them.

As criminals are lazy and cautious individuals, they will not usually risk being shot if they think somewhere else is easier to steal from.

Ban all gun control laws and let people have the right to defend themselves and homes.

Hey, if you Americans want something to substantiate your anti-gun control stance, you should look up north to see just how big of a mess we have up here in Canada. Our former federal government enacted a law that required all gun owners to register all of their guns with a central agency. We were all supposed to pay a fee when we did register, and that would pay for the cost of it, and the police would have this ultra valuable set of information to use. Well, ten years later, this registration agency is in a defecit to the tune of billions of dollars (think state government budgets in the US. After all, Canada and California have about the same populations), gun violence is on the rise, and dissenters to law are managing to obtain weapon licenses for their hot glue guns to prove a point. My point. Even when you try, gun control does work!

Shot a gun in New Jersey. Guns should not be banned because our forefathers put the second amendment in the constitution for a reason.

gun control is a bad thing!! when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. i mean, seriously, how do they expect law-abiding citizens to protect themselves from the criminals that have guns? and for that matter, do they really think that criminals are getting legal guns and getting them registered? get real. besides that, what about hunting? i think that trying to ban guns is a completely idiotic idea...do any one of those ijits know why there are so many gun accidents involving children? because children are not educated about guns. seriously, look at the scandinavian countries- they have the highest rate of gun ownership and the fewest accidents. why? because most of the population own guns and they educate their children about them!!!!!! and i don't mean just hiding it so the kids can find it and not know that they are going to shoot & kill or injure someone else....they show their children what the gun is for, how it is used, etc etc etc!!! google it for the specifics.....

ohio, yes shot a gun. guns should not be banned. people should be better educated about them. If guns were banned, criminals would still have them, but not the law-abiding citizens. That makes the situation even scarier because we won't be able to protect ourselves. Just because we outlaw guns, doesn't mean jerks won't obtain them.

gun control is a VERY bad idea, its what keeps our nation safe from terror with in. our constitution put that amendment in for damn good reason. THE RIGH TTO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS BY THE PEOPLE SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. it was put in there to keep the populous armed and in control of their government. absolute power corrupts absolutely. its not a joke. people are fearing they're government more and more as time goes by, why do you think that is? what are you going to do if ANYONE (government or other) comes after you with lethal intent for you or your family? check your history fo rwhat actualy happens to countries who give up their rights to be armed, they are soon taken over (naturaly) and exterminated. your a sitting duck for anything if ur not armed. i have never once seen a gun jump off the table and kill someone, people kill people.
