i know people who drink and smoke and i would much rather see someone smoke than drunk. marijuana mellows u out but drinking makes most people crazy. u hear about alot of child and spousel abuse from people who are drunk but not who smoke. also a lot of people wouldn't have to be on antidepressants or ADD medication. also there would be less overcrowding in our prison system from people who are in there just for marijuana. there are so many reasons why it should be legal in my eyes. does anyone else agree with me? also for the record believe it or not i don't smoke it but i know people who do. i have smoked it in the past so i know how it makes u feel and stuff.

Just like too much alcohol, marijuana makes people stupid and many have short term memory loss. If you were a parent would you want to see your child stoned all the time? I think not. I have also known people on antidepressents because of smoking too much weed. If you legalized marijuana, people would not smoke it as much because it wouldn't be the synthetic weed that is smoked today. The majority of potheads in this country are worthless because they have lost their drive to succeed. Yes I have smoked it before, and I used to think the way you do. Maybe when you grow up and have real responsibilities, you will see this issue differently. Some young people don't smoke because they like to, they smoke to escape from their problems. The smart people quit after the experimental stage and start to do something with their lives instead of those that sit around and do nothing for the rest of their life.

I agree it should be legalized, as should all drugs. however my reasoning is not do with health but economy. If we legalize drugs then the money that previously went to terrorists and gangs goes instead to farmers and governments. As you pointed out it would lead to less overcrowding in prisons, however increased drug use would be a big drain on the health service.

I personally don't feel that drugs need to defended, or the reports fought off.

Drugs should be legal period. It's an un-american idea to outlaw a substance. It's essentially people saying, Hey, I don't like drugs so you can't do them either!

That does not make sense.

If you are pro choice, your pro drug legalization.

--It's my body I put in and take out what ever I want.

If you are pro gay marriage, You are pro drug legalization.

--Seems a little odd, but it's true. Anti-gay marriage proponents simply don't like it and want it to be illegal. This is exactly the same thing with drugs. A bunch of people don't like it so they want it to be illegal.

If you are anti-gun control, You are pro drug legalization.

--Guns are more dangerous than drugs on a physical level.
If I can have a gun, why can't I have a joint?

If you are anti-gangs, you are pro legalization

--Gangs get the large majority of their funding through drug dealing. Legalizing drugs would make them available at select stores, cheaper and of a higher quality, rendering the "street dealer" businessless.

If you are anti-terrorism, you are pro legalization

--Remember those commercials? That drugs go to fund terrorism? The only reason that could be true is because they are illegal, the same way they fund gangs, because they are illegal, the money made from them is untaxed, untraceable and generates huge profits at the production level. Legalizing drugs would remove the need to import them.

If you are pro freedom, you are pro legalization.

-- I think it's rather self explained, but just in case, By using drugs, I do not hurt anyone but myself, so it's really no one elses business if I use drugs or not. As long as you aren't driving or working while you use them, there are no conflicts there.

If you are pro freedom of religion, you are pro legalization.

--Drugs have a huge religious value to many people world wide, which is one reason people will continue to use them regardless of what anyone says or does. The search for a higher power and higher states of mind is worth the risk of dieing or going to jail for some people.

There are so many other reasons that they should be legalized, but I think I made my point here. I encourage you all to read up on the pro-legalization argument. It makes more sense, is more productive and is more american than the anti-drug point of view.

If u r comparing weed 2 alcohol ,i think weed should be also legalized for those that r 21 years of age or older, because most teenagers r goofy on it,and think they have all the answers, but most of them just live off mommy n daddy n have no responsibilities.

i do agree with you, but i think that they don't legalize it because they have been many years telling us that marijuana is a terrible and useless drug while they have a drink of whiskey ( which is really worst for your health than marijuana ) so now all these people can´t accept that they were wrong.

ignorance is the biggest problem today.

You are absolutely correct..
Marijuana should be legal..
Legalization would cause too much unemployment within
the governmental law enforcement & judicial systems so it
will never be legalized...
Big money is made in this insane war on drugs..
( And I am not talking about money made by drug dealers )

My dear it can not be legal because it is medically and scientifically destructive to human health dignity..
But I believe there penalties against taking and dealing with it should be revised and be more reformative than penalizing...
