It is a lovely name. Very likely to be shortened to Jo, which is also quite cool.

Well I have a friend named Josephine, and she's a real "hoot". But as for the name it's a very unusual one, and it puts me in mind of little old lady's. I tell Josephine this when I see her and it really gets her ire up, lol.

I think names are a good representation of what a person will be like when they grow older. Josephine means "God will increase." So if you love the meaning go with the name.

Thats my name !!! and it´s also my mother´s name.

But in Mexico is Josefina, letter F instead of ph.

I like it, and i dont know a lot of women with that name, only a couple (my mom and a friend)
