It it to make your parents happy?

Why dont you just live together as long as your happy?

Is it because the girl wants to blow 50 grand on a party that they could use to buy a home instead ?

Marriage is a religious ceremony two people take part in to make a formal committment to each other. You don't get married to make anyone else happy, the 50 grand idea is a cinderalla dream and not reality and you can live together as long as you are happy, but there are better benefits involved with being married legally.

One of the stupidest reasons for getting married or staying in a bad marriage is love. Period!

You want to get married because you are compatible: you have similar goals; he will be a good friend and supporter; that you are of similar nature; that you enjoy many of the same important things; you both want (or don't want) children; AND that you love each other. You don't get married just because of love. That is dangerous, infantile, and immature. Yet countless supposedly mature adults do this every year for this single reason.

Mature healthy love is certainly a necessary ingredient in a good relationship, but it is not sufficient in and of itself.

all those reason could be why a couple gets married its something that they have to think about....my wife and i got married because we wanted to have that bond those vowels mean something to a people....yeah they are just words and a marriage license is only a piece of paper..but its not....couples can live together and be happy nothing wrong with that..but we are Catholic and getting married through the church meant a lot to myself my wife and out families...its just how the couple looks at things....its a sense of pride for me my wife she is mine i am hers...once you take those vowels that's it....your no longer able to be free as far as dating and so forth...marriage is a great thing..and trust me even if you have lived with your partner for a while (years) if you ever considering getting married that piece of paper does change the way you view life....but no one has to get married to show their love for their partner

I have no idea because I've never been married.

However . . .

a VOWEL is in the alphabet - a, e, i, o, u

VOWS are the promises people make to each other in a marriage ceremony.

Just wanted to clear that up. Don't be mad.
