im not sure if they r or not but i think they r, bert seems 2 argue with ernie like a woman does with her man, im pretty sure ernie is a stoner though, the ducky and the spaced out voice and all. also ernie feels the need 2 ask bert if this or that is alright with him, like a husband asking his wife.

This is one of the longest-running rumors of them all...we're talking about a show for preschool/kindergarteners here...to them, sex and sexuality are totally unknown concepts...if an adult wants to read more into it, that's one thing...personally I don't think they are...just not wealthy enough to afford two beds...now Ren & Stimpy, if you care...they are...
